Sonic Branding Agency for Global Brands
Synchromusic is a boutique sonic branding agency with studios in London, Los Angeles and Rome. We build sonic identities for brands in automotive, technology, luxury and entertainment. We are composers. The person who takes your brief is the one who writes the music.
Why brands choose a boutique agency over a network
You talk to the people making the music. Most sonic branding agencies sit inside a holding group, where a brief passes through account teams before it reaches a composer. Here, the person you brief is the person who writes. Revisions get sharper and decisions get faster, because nothing is relayed.
Everything is human-made. We do not deliver AI-generated music, and we turn down briefs that require it. AI has a place in our studio as a sketching tool when a composer is stuck, and it stops there. As generative music fills the market, a human-made guarantee becomes part of what a brand is buying.
Our prices are published. You can see below what a sonic identity costs before you contact us. Agencies inside a network are rarely able to do this. It saves everyone a month of scoping calls.
Selected work
- MINI Electric, original composition for campaign
- Samsung Galaxy S25, sync licensing for global launch
- Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege, sync licensing
Our composers’ work has also appeared for BMW, LEGO, Google, Disney+ and HBO.
How we work
- Discovery. We listen to how your brand sounds today across its touchpoints, and to how your category sounds. Usually one or two sessions.
- Sonic territory. We propose two or three musical directions, each with a short demo. You hear the idea rather than a deck about the idea.
- Composition. We build the chosen direction into a sonic logo and the full-length theme it comes from.
- The system. Variations, cut-downs and adaptations for the places your brand lives: film, social, product, retail, events.
Typical timeline is four to twelve weeks from brief to delivered system.
What you get
- A sonic logo, in the lengths your channels need
- The full brand theme the logo is drawn from
- Variations by mood, tempo and instrumentation
- Cut-downs for film, social and broadcast
- Stems, so your editors can work with the music
What does sonic branding cost?
| Sonic Identity Audit | £1,500, credited against the project |
| Full sonic identity system | from £15,000 |
| Original composition, single track | from £6,000 |
The audit is where most brands start. We analyse how your brand sounds today across its touchpoints and deliver a short written assessment of what is working, what is inconsistent and what is missing. If you go ahead with a project, the fee comes off it.
What a full system costs above the starting figure depends on the number of touchpoints, the markets the work runs in and the licence term. We give you a fixed figure after the first conversation, and we will not ask you for your budget.
How do I choose a sonic branding agency?
Four questions worth asking every agency you shortlist:
- Who actually writes the music, and will I speak to them?
- Is any part of the delivered work AI-generated?
- What do I own at the end, and for how long?
- What does the system include beyond the sonic logo?
We answer all four in writing before a project starts. For the longer version, our complete guide to sonic branding covers how the discipline works and what a full identity system includes, and what sonic identity is explains why brands build one.
Sectors we work in
Sound behaves differently in every category. What builds recognition for a car brand does not work for a bank.
- Automotive
- Transportation and travel
- Technology and consumer electronics
- Luxury and fashion
- Financial services
- Entertainment and gaming
- Retail and hospitality
Sector by sector, in more detail: automotive, transportation and travel, luxury.
Working across markets
Studios in London, Los Angeles and Rome, and our own composers across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Work is cleared for the UK, Europe and the US as standard, and for other territories on request. Most of our clients are based outside the countries we sit in.
Frequently asked questions
What does a sonic branding agency do?
A sonic branding agency designs how a brand sounds: the sonic logo, the brand theme it is drawn from, and the system of variations that carries it across advertising, product, retail and events.
How much does sonic branding cost?
At Synchromusic a full sonic identity system starts at £15,000, and a Sonic Identity Audit is £1,500 credited against the project. Across the wider market, specialist studios typically range from £15,000 to £60,000, and global programmes from the largest agencies run considerably higher.
How long does a sonic identity take?
Four to twelve weeks from brief to delivered system, depending on how many touchpoints the system has to cover. An audit takes about two weeks.
Do we own the sonic identity?
Yes. Full ownership transfers on final payment, worldwide and in perpetuity, unless you prefer a shorter term at a lower fee.
Can you work alongside our existing agency?
Yes. We regularly deliver into campaigns run by a brand’s creative or media agency, working to their specifications and timelines.
What if we only need a sonic logo?
We will do it, and we will tell you first whether a logo on its own is likely to work for your case. A three-second mark with nothing behind it rarely builds recognition on its own.
Is any of the music AI-generated?
No. Everything we deliver is composed and performed by people. We decline briefs that require AI-generated music.
Do you also design product and interface sounds?
We do, and we quote them separately from a sonic identity system. Tell us what the product is and we will come back with a scope.
What is the difference between a sonic branding agency and a music library?
A library licenses music that already exists and that other brands can license too. A sonic branding agency builds music that belongs to your brand alone and that is designed to be recognised as yours.
